
The Delightful Daintree
The Daintree is one of the oldest rainforests in the world even older than the Amazon, described as a ‘living museum’. It is a tropical rainforest located in the North of Queensland, Australia. The Daintree covers a very large area of land which is approximately 1200 square kilometres between Mossman Gorge and the Bloomfield River. Home to a third of Australia’s frog, reptile and marsupial species as well as more than 50% of the bat and butterfly species along with 18% of the total bird population in Australia. There are also 12,000 different types of insects that can be found in this rainforest.
